System Settings & Configuration
The System Settings module allows you to configure and customise your DMS system to match your dealership's requirements.
Accessing System Settings
Navigate to: System Administration / Settings
General Settings
System Information
- System Name: Your dealership name or system identifier
- Tagline: System tagline or description
- Contact Email: Support email address
- Contact Phone: Support phone number
Login Configuration
- Custom Login Path: Custom URL for login page
- Password Requirements: Minimum length, complexity rules
- Session Timeout: Automatic logout after inactivity
- Two-Factor Authentication: Enable/disable 2FA
Regional Settings
- Timezone: System timezone
- Date Format: Date display format
- Time Format: 12-hour or 24-hour
- Currency: Default currency symbol
- VAT Rate: Default VAT rate (UK standard 20%)

Dealership Information
- Business name
- Address
- Registration number
- VAT number
- Contact details
Opening Hours
- Set opening hours per day
- Break times
- Public holidays
- Special opening hours
Email Configuration
- SMTP Server: Email server settings
- From Address: Default sender email
- From Name: Default sender name
- Email Templates: Customise email templates
Maintenance Mode
Put system in maintenance mode:
- Enable maintenance mode
- Set maintenance message
- Allow access for specific users
- Automatic redirect to maintenance page
Backup & Recovery
- Automatic Backups: Schedule automatic database backups
- Backup Frequency: Daily, weekly, monthly
- Backup Retention: How long to keep backups
- Manual Backup: Create backup on demand
- Restore: Restore from backup
Security Settings
- SSL Required: Force HTTPS connections
- IP Whitelisting: Restrict access by IP address
- Rate Limiting: Prevent brute force attacks
- Audit Logging: Enable/disable audit trails
- Data Encryption: Encrypt sensitive data
Integration Settings
- API Access: Enable/disable API
- API Keys: Manage API authentication keys
- Webhook URLs: Configure webhooks for events
- Third-Party Integrations: Configure external system connections
Saving Settings
After making changes:
- Click "Save Settings"
- Changes take effect immediately
- Some settings may require system restart
- Review changes before saving
