1. Vehicle Listing Creation

When a vehicle is added to the system, SEO elements are automatically generated. The system creates a unique, SEO-friendly URL using the vehicle ID and a slug based on make, model, year, and variant. Meta title and description are generated using templates that include key information like make, model, year, price, and location. The system ensures each vehicle has unique, descriptive meta tags optimised for search engines.

2. Schema Markup Generation

Structured data (JSON-LD) is automatically added to each vehicle page using Product schema. This includes vehicle specifications, pricing, images, availability, and location information. Organisation schema is added to brand pages, and LocalBusiness schema is added to location pages. BreadcrumbList schema provides navigation context. This structured data helps search engines understand your content and can result in rich snippets in search results.

3. Social Media Optimisation

OpenGraph tags are automatically generated for each vehicle, including title, description, images, price, and availability. Twitter Card tags provide rich previews when vehicles are shared on Twitter. The system uses the best quality vehicle image for social sharing, ensuring attractive previews that encourage clicks. All social tags are automatically updated when vehicle details change.

4. Sitemap Management

The system automatically generates and maintains XML sitemaps for all vehicles, brands, locations, and content pages. When a new vehicle is added or an existing vehicle is updated, the sitemap is automatically regenerated. For large sites, sitemap indexes are created to manage multiple sitemap files. The sitemap includes last modification dates and change frequencies to help search engines crawl efficiently.

5. URL Structure & Redirects

All vehicle URLs follow a consistent, SEO-friendly structure: /vehicle/{id}-{make}-{model}-{variant}. The ID ensures URLs remain stable even if vehicle details change. If a vehicle's slug changes (e.g., after editing), the system automatically creates a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one, preserving search engine rankings. URL history is maintained to prevent 404 errors.

6. Internal Linking Strategy

The system automatically creates internal links between related content. Vehicle listings link to brand pages, location pages, and related vehicles. Brand pages link to all vehicles in that brand. Location pages link to vehicles at that location. Breadcrumb navigation provides clear site structure. Related vehicle suggestions help users discover more stock while improving internal linking.

7. Canonical URL Management

Canonical URLs prevent duplicate content issues that can harm SEO. The system automatically sets canonical URLs for all pages, ensuring search engines know which version to index. For filtered search results, canonical URLs point to the main stock page or brand page, preventing indexing of infinite filter combinations while allowing curated SEO landing pages to be indexed.

8. Robots.txt & Crawl Control

The robots.txt file is dynamically generated to guide search engine crawlers. Admin areas, filter combinations, and internal system pages are blocked from indexing.
